Fleeting glimpses of various worlds

Only the world wondered.

A woman met a robot in a thunderstorm. She offered him her umbrella. He bought her a cup of hot coffee. They talked haltingly until the rain stopped. Neither mentioned the other’s accent.

Next day, the robot waited at the bus stop with one perfect rose in his large metal hand. The woman smiled as she took it.

Robots can’t fall in love. Something about the woman must have caused a circuit malfunction. Perhaps the same reason why every watch she wore never told the correct time. The robot didn’t really care.

Neither did the woman. Only the world wondered.

Bus stop, wet day…
